Travel With Us

Vietnam is a land of natural beauty and rich, complex history. There is an abundance of ancient landmarks and structures that have stood tall over the centuries. With Vietnam, you are getting one of the most culturally empowering adventures in the world. You can expect to find pristine beaches, flourishing green mountain ranges and sublime national parks and museums. Let’s not forget about the floating villages and the largest cave in the world! Vietnam is astonishing and compelling beyond belief!

Day 1

Arrive in Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital and second largest city, to be greeted by the Lift Our Planet team and escorted to the hotel. Settle in for a bit and join us for a welcome dinner of traditional Vietnamese cuisine.

Day 2

Start the day off with breakfast and a volunteer orientation class that includes Vietnamese language and culture lessons. Embark on an exciting city tour in the afternoon, and enjoy free time after dinner.

Day 3

On your first day of volunteering, work with a learning center for underprivileged children. After activities with the children, head to the
Bat Trang Ceramic Village for an afternoon of pottery and shopping. 

Day 4

Return to the learning center for another half day of service with the children. In the afternoon, travel to Thay Pagoda, just outside of Hanoi center, and learn about the legendary monk Tu Dao Hanh.

Day 5

Return to the learning center for another half day of service with the children. Then, enjoy a half day of exploring the markets, street food, and culture of the country with a tour of Old Quarter Hanoi.

Day 6

Return to the learning center for another half day of service with the children. Spend the afternoon in
Friendship Village and experience a moment of history in conversation with Vietnam War veterans and patients affected by Agent Orange

Day 7

Return to the learning center for your last day of service work with the children. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to rest, relax, and explore the exciting city of Hanoi.

Day 8

Travel to Halong Bay, where you’ll boat to the floating fishing village Cua Van. Swim or snorkel in the bay, and join us for a party on the sundeck as the sun sets over the water. 

Day 9

Eat breakfast on the sea and sail to the famous
Sung Sot Cave of Surprises for a few hours of exploration before sailing back to the harbor in Halong City. End the evening with a farewell dinner with your fellow volunteers. 

Day 10

Pack your bags and say your goodbyes over breakfast. The Lift Our Planet team will escort you to the airport and assist you with the check in process to begin your journey home.

Temple Tours

Temples are an essential part of daily life in Vietnamese culture. Walk the grounds of some of these beautiful, sacred places of worship to learn about the religious history and cultural significance of a few of the country’s many temples.

Pottery Classes in the Ceramic VIllage

Learn about the history of the iconic Bat Trang Ceramic Village during a day trip where volunteers will learn to make beautiful pottery from local masters and have the opportunity to explore the market.

Friendship Village

Visit The Vietnam Friendship Village, a veteran run project in Hanoi, where you’ll have the opportunity to get to know veterans of the Vietnam war and patients who have been affected by Agent Orange during an afternoon visit.
